CPI National Secretary Dr K Narayana today accused the Centre of encouraging defections and supporting communal forces, while the State Government was offering dictatorial rule.
Addressing a two-day workshop on first day at Makhdoom Bhavan for district secretaries of the party, Narayana exhorted the secular parties to come together to fight against the “anti-people” policies of the Centre and the State governments. He also lashed out at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who opposed the BJP till recently, embraced the saffron party for selfish political ends and dumping his electoral ally Lalu Prasad Yadav in the name of corruption case.
The CPI leader also found fault with the Centre and other political parties for supporting Ramnath Kovind as President and M Venkaiah Naidu for vice-president post, who both have RSS background. Narayana expressed concern that secularism and democracy in the country are going to face a big challenge as these two leaders are from RSS ideology. At this juncture, it is time for secular forces and parties to join hands to take on the might of the governments, he said. He exhorted the party men and activists to fight against the governments for the cause of the workers and people. (NSS)
