Narayana asks CPI cadre to strengthen party’s base

Communist Party of India state secretary K Narayana on Saturday called upon the party cadre to focus their attention on strengthening the party base in the State.

Participating as chief guest in the inaugural session of two-days’ convention of Town and City Secretaries at Makhdoom Bhavan, Narayana said that the party should be strengthened by taking up public issues and launching agitations against anti-people policies of the government.

Though the Congress promised in the election campaign during 2009 that it would never increase the power tariff, he said that the party failed to honour its promise and cheated the people by increasing the tariff. He said that the people have been facing problems as the Left parties have become weak.

Stating that YSR Congress party was the outcome of corruption of former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, he said that both Congress and YSR Congress were the sides of the same coin. He said that CPI has been supporting the Telugu Desam party to defeat the corrupt Congress and YSR Congress parties.

Narayana regretted that CPI (Marxist) was not extending its support to defeat the corrupt parties in the ensuing by-elections. (INN)
