CPI national leader Dr K Narayana here on Tuesday declared that they would continue struggle till justice was rendered to the Indian students, who were sent back by the American government.
The activists of CPI and All India Students Federation attempted to stage a dharna at the American Consulate at Begumpet. Before the arrival of the protestors at the American consulate, the police took Dr Narayana along with 23 party leaders and workers were taken into preventive custody.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Narayana accused the American government of playing with the lives of students. He also demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister of two Telugu States exert pressure on the US and see that justice was done to the deported students.
Several students from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States were being deported and returning to Hyderabad over the past fortnight, despite possessing valid visas issued by the US Consulate, the protestors said. (NSS)
