Kolkata, August 30: Naparajit Mukherjee will take charge as the new Director-General of West Bengal police from Bhupinder Singh, who retires tomorrow.
Chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee today signed the letter of appointment of Mukherjee as the next DGP, said officials.
Mukherjee, a 1976-batch IPS officer, was the Director-General of the Intelligence Branch.
Singh, who served as DGP for 14 months, retires after 36 years of service.
