Nama joins TRS, To Contest from Khammam LS Seat

Hyderabad: Former MP and TDP leader from Khammam Nama Nageshwar Rao today joined the TRS party in Telangana State ahead of the ensuing Lok Sabha elections. Nama Nageshwar Rao, considered to be one of the richest politicians in the country, has to put in papers to the TD only to join the ruling TRS for the upcoming polls.

TRS working president KT Rama Rao welcomed Nama Nageshwar Rao into the party with traditional pink shawl at party headquarters Telangana Bhavan here on Thursday. KTR also welcomed other leaders along with Nageswhar Rao, including TDP Telangana vice-president Swarna Kumari, Amarnath, Khammam district TDP president Brahmaiah, Mancherial district TD president Sharath Babu and others. Excise Minister V Srinivas Goud, TRS MLAs Puvvada Ajay, Balka Suman and others were present.

A strong political leader in Khammam district, Nama Nageshwar Rao has resigned from the TD membership as well as its politburo post and sent the same to its national president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu a few days ago. Puvvada Ajay, TRS MLA from the Khammam segment, greeted Nageshwar Rao on the occasion.

Nama gave a big jolt to the TDP stating that it has no future in Telangana. In a letter addressed to Chandrababu Naidu, Nama Nageshwara Rao stated he was constrained to leave the TDP as it has no future in Telangana State. Earlier, Nama called on KTR and held parleys with TRS chief and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. Later, the TRS supremo reportedly agreed to field Nama from the Khammam Lok Sabha seat.
