Hyderabad, December 23: In order to impart legal education for engineers, who hope to enter into construction, the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research University (NALSAR) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Academy of Construction (NAC) to offer two diploma courses.
Signing the MoU, Nalsar Vice-Chancellor Veer Singh said that the purpose of the MoU is to create a pool of welltrained manpower for construction industry, which would expand manifold. Addressing reporters, he said, “Initially, we would be offering one-year graduate diploma courses in Law of Contract Administration and Real Estate Management and another PG diploma course in Law of Infrastructure Management and Disaster Management.’’ He said that those pursuing B.Tech are eligible for the Contract Administration and Real Estate Management course, while the PG diploma course is open for BTech or BE graduate holders.
Observing that the construction industry is next only to agriculture in the country, NAC Director General FCS Peter highlighted that there is a growing need for techno-legal expertise for construction industry.
He also told that both the diploma courses are through correspondence and would commence from June next. The aim of the MoU is promotion of academic co-operation and joint ventures in interdisciplinary programmes of Education, Training and Research and facilitating exchange of scientific/ technical information, liaison and coordination with industrial, academic, professional organisations, he added.
When asked about the course fee structure, Nalsar officials maintained that they have not yet framed the fee.
