Nalgonda incident: TPCC asks Nayani to quit

Demanding that Home Minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy immediately resign owning responsibility for the incident occurred in Nalgonda, TPCC vice-president Mallu Ravi condemned the attack on Nalgonda MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy by TRS activists on Tuesday. He lashed out at the State government for failing to give protocol respect to Komatireddy Venkat Reddy.

Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, Ravi said laying of foundation stone by Marketing Minister T Harish Rao was because of efforts of Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, who raised the issue in the Assembly. He alleged that the Nalgonda incident was because of failure of police and over enthusiasm of TRS leaders. The police confined to arrests instead of controlling the incidents, he said, adding that they were working under the control of the TRS leaders.

Ravi demanded that Power Minister G Jagdeesh Reddy tender public apology owning responsibility to the Nalgonda incident. He alleged that Jagdeesh Reddy has no understanding on the democracy. He also demanded that the government withdraw cases filed against Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and other Congress leaders. (NSS)
