Najeeb missing case: ABVP students hold violent protest, damage property at JNU

New Delhi: ABVP students held a violent protest in JNU after court summon letters pasted on hostels’ walls of nine students who are accused in the missing case of Najeeb Ahmed.

According to the report published in News Click, a group of students belonging to ABVP held a demonstration outside Dean of the Students office on Thursday afternoon. They demanded protection to the nine accused in the case. During the demonstration, glass doors and flower pots were broken.

It may be mentioned that Najeeb Ahmed an MSc First Year student, went missing on October 15 last year after a fight with alleged members of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh-affiliated Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad. However, the student body had denied any involvement.

Giving the details of the situation when CBI officials came to serve the notice, Mohit K Pandey, former JNU Students’ Union President said that they faced difficulties.

Meanwhile, Satarupa Chakraborty, former General Secretary of JNU students’ Union said that the JNU administration instead of taking action against violence, protecting ABVP goons. She also said that administration of the university led by Mr. Jagadesh Kumar is shielding the assaulters of Najeeb. Associate Dean of Students, Mr. Buddha Singh attempted to stop CBI from serving notices, she alleged.

She further alleged that whenever students demonstrate against the biased attitude of the administration, they are framed in fake cases.

It may be noted that Patiala Court on 16th October directed CBI to issue notices to the nine accused in the case.
