Naidu’s phone was not tapped: Venugopala Chary

Special Representative of Telangana in New Delhi Venugopala Chary on Monday claimed that the State Government did not tap the telephone of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in connection with ‘Cash for Vote’ case.

Speaking to media persons in New Delhi, Venugopala Chary said that nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson has recorded the conversation that he had with the TDP chief. He later handed over the same recorded conversation to the Anti-Corruption Bureau. He accused the TDP leaders of trying to mislead the people by levelling the allegations of phone tapping. He said that the TRS Government would never resort to phone tapping of opposition leaders.

Venugopala Chary also alleged that the TDP leaders were hatching a conspiracy to handover Law and Order of Hyderabad to the Governor by invoking certain sections of Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act. He said that the TDP leaders were levelling baseless allegations against Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to cover up their misdeeds. (INN)
