Naidu’s China Tour: AP delegations arrives in Chengdu

The Andhra Pradesh delegation arrived in Chengdu on Wednesday, their next stop as part of the China tour.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu met Wei Hong, Governor of Sichuan. Hong extended the invite for the delegation to visit the town. “India and China are the two Asian countries which will have to be watched for in the future”, Hong added.

He also added that their province is keen about Andhra Pradesh’s culture and tourism sectors.

Stating that the Andhra Pradesh has strong roots in IT and agriculture, he extended support in the construction sector. He mentioned that there will be over 130 enterprises attending the round-table meeting scheduled tomorrow.

The Chief Minister said that China’s story is a learning point for all to rise in the path of development. “We have given utmost importance to infrastructure,” the Chief Minister mentioned. He also lauded the boom of industries in Chengdu. He added that he understood the growth potential of the city enroute the venue.

The Governor also pointed out at the similar challenges China and Andhra Pradesh state has to fight. “There is an imbalance in the development with poverty still rampant,” Hong added.

Stating that AP is strong in higher education, the Governor showed keen interest to collaborate for development of education. He also asked the Chief Minister to ensure a continuous communication system is put in place for deliberations between Chinese companies and AP Government.

Nominating one of his colleagues to work with the State of Andhra Pradesh, he wished that the province and the state would evolve as sister-states.

The Chief Minister said that India has various investment opportunities and invited the Governor to visit the state. Seeking to explore possibilities of mutual cooperation, the Chief Minister briefed the Governor of the capital plan.

The AP delegation later attended the banquet hosted by the Governor. (INN)
