TDP forges ahead in the municipal election results in the Seemandhra region by winning 62 out of 92 municipalities followed by YSRCP in 21 municipalities and the results were declared in nine municipalities on Monday. In the municipal corporations, the TDP won five while YSRCP bagged two. Buoyed with local body election results, TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu described his party’s performance as “people’s victory”.
He thanked the people for supporting TDP in the elections held for Municipal corporations, municipalites and panchayat bodies. It was a historic victory and Telugu people taught a fitting lesson to corrupt people and supported TDP for development in Seemandhra.
Alleging that the people have faced problems during ten-year rule of Congress party, the TDP chief expressed his gratitude and thanked party workers and leaders, who strove for the stunning victory of the party. The feat was result of united efforts of party activists leading to the party’s victory in every district of the Seemandhra region from Srikakulam to Anantapur where opposition parties had to face defeat, he said, adding that the results reflected the confidence of the people in the TDP.
Chandrababu Naidu said in Telangana region the party could not do well as expected due to sentiment that Congress has given Telangana State. He, however, said his party would play a major role in the development of the region. (NSS)
