Naidu takes on Speaker in Assembly

Hyderabad, March 03: Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Assembly N Chandrababu Naidu today came down heavily on Speaker N Kiran Kumar Reddy and asked him to behave with dignity.

“As the principal opposition party, we respect the Speaker?s position and try to uphold its dignity. At the same time, the Speaker too should behave in a dignified manner and not make political comments against the opposition parties,” Naidu told reporters after the House was abruptly adjourned for the third day in a row.

“What nonsense,” the Speaker shouted at the TDP members before adjourning the House and also remarked that the TDP had failed as an opposition party.

Taking strong exception to this, the former chief minister said it was unbecoming of the Speaker to make such comments.

“There are limitations to the Speaker?s post. His duty is to run the House in order.
