Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council C Ramchandraiah on Thursday asked Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to stop ‘meddling’ in the affairs of Telangana State.
Speaking to media persons in his chambers in Council premises, Ramchandraiah said that although people of Andhra Pradesh have elected Naidu and gave him a clear mandate in last elections, he has proved himself to be weak Chief Minister by interfering in the affairs of neighbouring State of Telangana. “Instead of focusing on his own State, he appears more interested in meddling in the affairs of Telangana,” he said.
Ramchandraiah alleged that the TDP Government took no action to deal with the issue of farmers’ suicide in Andhra Pradesh. “The State Government has not even maintained the records of farmers who committed suicide in the last one year. The production of paddy has declined by almost one-fourth in the last two seasons. The procurement of agriculture produce has been badly hit. The Central Government is benefitting some corporate houses by importing sugar and did not even increase the MSPs of major crops,” he alleged.
The Congress leader said Chandrababu Naidu has left the farmers to their fate and no action is being taken for their welfare. (INN)
