New Delhi: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today sought an action taken report (ART) from the NITI Aayog on the interim report on digital payments submitted by him early this year.
A Chief Minister’s Committee on Digital Payments, led by convener Naidu, submitted the interim report on digital payments on January 24.
“Within a month, we have asked them to give an action taken report on the interim report on digital payments that we submitted,” said Naidu after meeting NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Arvind Panagariya here.
We have also asked them to take note of the issues that were creating hurdles in migration to digital payments, he added.
Naidu also suggested the think-tank to collect data about digital currency from across the world to emulate the best model.
“We have asked NITI to look for kind of incentives given in other countries and inculcate similar things in the country to encourage digital payments,” he said, adding that we have to look for more logical ways for transformation to digital currency.
The Chief Minister also met other Union ministers and discussed state specific issues.
Naidu has left for a trip to the US where he will be meeting CEOs of various companies and is expected to sign MoUs.
