Naidu seeking more powers for Guv in GHMC, alleges TJR

Former minister T Jeevan Reddy on Monday accused Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu pressuring the Centre to grant more powers to Governor in the GHMC limits.

Speaking to media persons at the Congress Legislature Party office here, Jeevan Reddy said that Naidu has hatched a larger conspiracy to weaken the people of Telangana by taking away all their powers. He alleged that Naidu has convinced the Centre to bring an Amendment in the AP Reorgnisation Act to delegate more powers, including Law and Order in the GHMC limits, to the Governor.

Jeevan Reddy announced that the Congress party would strongly oppose the move in the Parliament. Further, he said that the party would organise protests if the Centre introduces any such amendment. (INN)
