Naidu Repeats Vow To Scrap Loans Of Farmers

TDP Chief N. Chandrababu Naidu today reiterated that his party would waive off loans of all farmers immediately after returning to power.

Addressing the TDP regional conference here on Friday, Chandrababu Naidu said the farmers’ plight was beyond description with the prices of fertilizers, seed and other agricultural inputs were skyrocketing. Alleging that the Congress government has miserably failed to provide nine-hour power supply though it assured it in the election manifesto, Naidu said the State was not getting its due share of Central assistance even though it contributed 32 MPs to the UPA government. He said the MPs, who got posts have confined to pairavies only and did nothing to the State.

The TDP chief alleged that the debt-ridden farmers were losing heavily due to the lopsided policies of the State and Union governments. He bemoaned that the government has thrown Swaminathan Commission recommendations in a dustbin. He said that observing the plight of the people as Leader of the Opposition leader spared no efforts to send back the Uttarakhand pilgrims to their native places. He also said the TDP has credit of conducting local body elections systematically. (NSS)
