Naidu promises to fill vacancies in Police Dept

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has assured that all vacancies in the police department would be filled soon.

Addressing the Police Commemoration Day in Vijayawada on Wednesday, Naidu announced that Rs. 15 crore would be given for Police Welfare Fund. He said that the amount would be utilised for the welfare of police personnel and their families.

Naidu asked the police personnel to remain alert and maintain Law and Order situation. He said proper Law and Order was the key to get best investments for the State. He also advised them to pay special focus to address the grievances of SCs and STs. He said that the police department has been facing several challenges in the new State.

The Chief Minister said that as many 443 police personnel, including 14 from Andhra Pradesh, have laid down their lives on the line of duty in the last one year. Paying rich tributes, he said that the State Government would take all measures for the welfare of families of police martyrs.

Home Minister China Rajappa, DGP JV Ramudu and other senior leaders and ministers were also present on the occasion. (INN)
