Naidu Plans R’Seema Expressway to Connect to Amaravati

In tune with his vision of constructing the grand global city of Amaravati as “People’s Capital,”  Chief Minister  N Chandrababu Naidu has vowed to make the capital city to be accessible to every person even from the remotest village across all corners of Andhra Pradesh

As part of this gigantic task of providing connectivity between the proposed capital and all parts of the state, the Andhra Pradesh government is contemplating a 6/4 lane Expressway from Rayalaseema to Amaravati at a massive investment of Rs. 27,635 crore.

      

“It is going to be the first of its kind experiment in the country. Amaravati is the heart of the Sunrise State of Andhra Pradesh and it is going to be lifeline for every nook and corner of the state. My objective is to ensure that people from any corner of the state will be able to reach the capital city without any hassles,” the  Chief Minister said in an open letter to the people.

           

Naidu had a brief teleconference with  Minister for MA&UD  Dr. P. Narayana, and the top brass of officials,  B. Sambob, Special Chief Secretary, T, R&B, Sateesh Chandra, Special Chief Secretary to CM, Lakshmi Pardhasaradhi CMD/Amaravati Development Corporation,  Ajay Jain Principal Secretary, Energy, I&I & CRDA, Sridhar Cherukuri, Commissioner, CRDA,

           

He stressed the need for all round development of the State and placing the Amaravati in top 10 Global Cities in future with an ultimate objective to  conduct prestigious Olympics in Amaravati. Later, he wrote an open letter to the people, which was released by Sri Ajay Jain.

      The  Rayalaseema Expressway is proposed to be designed for a speed of 120 Kmph with straight alignments. Tunnels and Viaducts are proposed to be constructed to negotiate hilly terrains and valley sections. To speed up the construction of this road project and to put it on a fast track  the e CM has categorically directed to set up five separate Land Acquisition Units and a Forest cell for processing all the required clearances with regard to de-reservation of Forest Land. District Collectors are requested to quickly get the alignment surveyed and to arrive at the details of extent of government land/private land required and procurement of land either through Land pooling or Land Acquisition mechanisms.

       The State Govt. is also contemplating to avail the rich experience of the global experts including Spain which has conducted Olympics previously. Mr. Antoni Vives, Ex-Deputy mayor of BarcelonaCity (Spain) which has hosted the Olympics, to share his experience with GoAP to make Amaravati as an Olympic City.(NSS)
