Naidu performs ‘Bhoomi Pooja’ for new capital Amravathi

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu performed the ‘Bhoomi Puja’ for State’s new capital ‘Amravathi’ at Tallayapalem in Tulluru mandal of Guntur district on Saturday.

The Bhoomi Puja rituals began at about 3 AM with Vigneswara Puja. Other rituals like Punyavachanam, Ashta Dikpala Puja and Vastu Puja were also performed. Water from five holy rivers was brought for the puja. After completion of all rituals, the Chief Minister and his wife Bhuvaneshwari performed the Bhoomi Puja at 8.49 AM at a plot on Survey No. 136 between Tulluru and Talayapalem villages. Later, Hala Yagna was performed wherein ground levelling was done.
