Naidu Meets Guv; Says Fight Will Continue Till Tainted Mantris Dropped

TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu has made it clear that his party would fight till the State government dropped the tainted Ministers from the Cabinet.
Chandrababu Naidu, along with party leaders, submitted a memorandum to the Governor against tainted Ministers at Raj Bhavan on Monday.
Speaking to the media later, Chandrababu Naidu alleged that corruption had taken place in the Jalayagnam works and in the allocation of SEZs. The State and Central governments were not initiating action against the corrupt even though they knew about it, he lamented.
He pointed out that the Chief Minister has not yet accepted the resignation of Roads & Buildings Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao though he submitted it several months ago in connection with the YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s illegal assets case. He said Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy was continuing in her position even though severe allegations were leveled against her. He also alleged that extending legal assistance to the six tainted ministers was nothing but utter violation of Constitutional norms.
He said as the Chief Minister was shielding the tainted Ministers, he has no right to continue in the post. Opining corruption was more dangerous than terrorism, Naidu urged the Governor to direct the Chief Minister to remove them. “The Governor must dismiss the tainted Ministers if the Chief Minister failed to initiate action against them”, he asserted.
The former chief minister said the tainted Ministers have no right to continue in power after the CBI charge-sheeted them. Naidu expressed surprise over the Governor remaining silent even after patiently hearing his version. He said he would be happy if the Governor mounted pressure on the Chief Minister on the issue of removal of tainted Ministers. (NSS)
