Naidu a man of money, an opportunist: TRS

The Telangana Rashtra Samiti MLA K T Rama Rao came down heavily on the Telugu Desam party president N. Chandrababu Naidu for selection of Rajya Sabha candidates only with an eye on the economic angle, and ignoring the services of the party workers.

Speaking at media point after the Assembly was adjourned to Tuesday, he alleged that Chandrababu’s life was full of back-stabbing and currency notes. He said that Chandrababu has turned into a man of money and opportunitic.

Rama Rao said that their party candidates would win in the five Assembly segments in the by-elections, apart from Nagam Janardhan Reddy to whom they have extended support in Nagarkurnool. He said that the media was also predicting on their victory in the by-election. He stated the Congress and Telugu Desam party would learn a lesson from the by-election results. He pointed out that the by-election results would indicate that the people of the region have not trusted the statements on Telangana issue made by the congress and Telugu Desam party. He stated at least now, both the parties have to change their stand on Telangana issue.

He said that the TRS leaders had openly said that they were not attending the Assembly session due to the by-election, and added that the Congress and Telugu desam have not dared to spell out their stand on the T issue. He alleged that Telugu desam and the congress were wasting the time of the House by colluding with each other. He also alleged that both the parties have got the House adjourned in a phased manner, for campaigning in the by-election. Stating that the by-election results would be out on March 21, he said that they would talk more after declaration of the results.

He said that the congress and telugu desam, which talked much on corruption, have no right to do so. He alleged that the congress party had retained power in 2009 because of corruption of former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. He took exception for Chandrababu talking on corruption as a relative of Anna Hazare. He said that Chandrababu has no sincerity on corruption issue. (NSS)
