Rajkot: Union Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu today launched a ‘Swachh Map’ mobile application of the Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) that will enable residents to register complaints of sanitation by sending photos using it.
“The application is designed and developed by US-based multinational company ‘Intel’ without taking any money.
Residents can send a photo of a dirty place or area to register their complaints to civic officials through the app and the complaints would be addressed within 24 hours,” RMC commissioner Vijay Nehra said.
He claimed that RMC was the first civic body in Gujarat to launch such an app.
When the Centre had recently announced names of clean cities, the city in the Saurashtra region was ranked 7th.
“Many cities have such type of application for limited areas, while RMC has launched the application covering entire city,” the Commissioner added.
“We are working very hard to make Rajkot a clean city and this is just a beginning in that direction,” Nehra said.
