Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu launched the Jana Chaitanya Yatra from Vemuru of Guntur district on Tuesday.
This is the first public contact programme launched by the Telugu Desam Party after coming to power in Andhra Pradesh in 2014 General Elections. The Yatra is aimed at educating people about different welfare schemes of the State Government and also receiving their feedback and grievances.
Speaking on the occasion, Naidu said that the TDP was formed for the upliftment of poor and backward sections of the society. He said that Andhra Pradesh has been facing several problems since division. Despite inheriting huge debts due to bifurcation, the State Government has been implementing several welfare schemes. He said crop loans worth nearly Rs. 24,000 crore have been waived off and pensions were being distributed among 44 lakh people.
Naidu said that the TDP Government would ensure the speedy growth and development of Andhra Pradesh by crossing all hurdles. (INN)
