Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday informed that the State Government would launch a new scheme “Smart Andhra Pradesh” in the month of January.
Naidu said that the date of launching the scheme would be decided after the receipt of complete list of villages to be adopted by the VIPs. He directed the officials to finalise the modalities of the scheme by the end of this month.
It may be mentioned that the Chief Minister had earlier requested the “first category of people in society”, which includes important people, VIPs and senior officials to adopt a village each and transform it into a smart village, thereby, making Andhra Pradesh a Smart State. He had made the adoption of villages mandatory for the All Indian Service officials. There are 16,250 villages in Andhra Pradesh. (INN)
