Naidu grieves over loss of lives in Nepal

AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today expressed grief over the loss of lives and damage to property due to the major earthquake in Nepal.
After returning from his Nellore and Prakasam districts’ tour, Naidu held an emergency video conference with the officials to take stock of the situation. He also sought information on the presence of Telugu people in the earthquake-hit areas.

The Chief Minister also sought information about the whereabouts 52 tourists from Palakollu, Narasapuram and 40 from Vijayawada, who reportedly stranded in Nepal.
Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao, Advisor (Communications) Dr Parakala Prabhakar, Principal Secretary to CMO Satish Chandra and AP Disaster Management Commissioner Dhanunjaya Reddy were present at the meeting. The Chief Minister also directed AP Bhavan Resident Commissioner to ensure safe evacuation of tourists from the distressed region. AP Disaster Management Commissioner Dhanunjaya Reddy also briefed the Chief Minister on the situation. (NSS)
