Naidu firm on giving 100 tickets to BCs in next elections

Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday said that his party was firm on the commitment of providing 100 seats to the BC Community in next general elections.

However, Naidu said that it would be the responsibility of the community to elect them. He reiterated that the Telugu Desam Party was committed for the upliftment and development of the BC community. He was speaking after being felicitated by the BC organisations at NTR Trust Bhavan for his announcement that his party would give tickets to 100 candidates from the Backward Classes. He said that the party tickets would be distributed among the prospective
candidates one year prior to the elections.

While Naidu’s speech was on, the power supply went off for a few minutes. Reacting to this, the TDP supremo sarcastically said that the State Government, which has failed to provide even electricity to the people, should distribute lamps to every citizen. It is quite unfortunate for the people of the State to have such a Chief Minister (N Kiran Kumar Reddy) whose administration has failed even to provide power to them, he said. (INN)
