Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday stressed the need for strengthening the democratic system and values in the country.
Hoisting the Tri-colour at the NTR Trust Bhavan to mark 66th Independence Day celebrations, Naidu called upon the youth to join the movement against corruption. He said that the youth could play a crucial role in building a corruption-free society. He appealed to the youth to spread patriotic spirit and values by learning about freedom fighters, their struggle and sacrifices.
Naidu also criticised Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for not suspending the Roads and Buildings Minister Dharmana Prasad Rao from the Cabinet despite the CBI filing charge sheet against him as an accused in the disproportionate assets case against YSR Congress president Jagan Mohan Reddy. He accused the Chief Minister of shielding the corrupt ministers.
Stating that the Backward Classes had received a raw deal in the society, Naidu said that his party was committed to their welfare and upliftment.
