Naidu directs officials to prepare 5 Star Energy Plan

Enthused with the nation-wide recognition on successful implementation of phase-I Demand side Management / Domestic Efficient Lighting Programme (DELP) scheme, which is a part of Energy Conservation Programme, the Andhra Pradesh Government has decided to complete the entire process of distribution of over 2 Crore LED bulbs to over one crore families in the state by March 2016, which will be a National record for providing/distributing the fruits of Energy Conservation to the Electricity Consumers/General public and stake holders.

Accordingly, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu directed the officials to further expedite the DELP scheme and also to take all possible measures to work out modalities for providing 5-Star rated electrical appliances of fans, ACs, Refrigerators etc., at reasonable rates compared to the open market, which will immensely benefit the State and stakeholders in the forum of considerable energy savings & reduction in electricity bills in future.  He also directed I.Y.R. Krishna Rao, Chief Secretary & Chairman/ SECM and Energy Secretary Ajay Jain to prepare an action plan to implement the above AP Energy 5 star programme, which paves the way for achieving of energy efficient state.

Disclosing the above details, Krishna Rao, who has reviewed the status of Energy Conservation & Energy Efficiency (EC&EE) programmes, in connection with launching of 2nd Phase of DELP Scheme in Krishna District on 26th August, emphasized the need to submit the above action plan as early as possible to the government. The meeting was attended by Ajay Jain, CMD/APTRANSCO & Managing Director/ APGENCO K. Vijayanand, Advisor/ Energy K. Ranganatham, CMD/APEPDCL  R Mutyala Raju, CMD/APSPDCL HY Dora.

The Energy Secretary disclosed that everything is set to formally launch the second phase of DELP scheme in Challapally Village, Avanigadda Constituency in Krishna District on 26th August.  Deputy Speaker Mandali Buddha Prasad, Major Irrigation Minister Devinveni Uma Maheshwara Rao, BC Welfare Minister Kollu Ravinder, Agriculture Minister Prathipati Pulla Rao and Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas will participated in the lauch function. Simultaneously, the said DELP scheme will be covered in Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Prakasam, Chittoor districts soon and other four districts of East Godavari, Nellore, Dr. YSR Kadapa and Kurnool districts during the months of November/December 2015.

State Government has decided to provide 9 W LED bulbs at a nominal price of Rs. 10/- each as against Market value of around Rs. 600/- in 2nd phase.

In Significant Development, sports celebrities of the world, Saina Nehwal and Pullela Gopichand have assured the State Energy Conservation Mission/ Govt. of AP to extend their full support for the prestigious programme of Energy Conservation and Energy Efficiency which will immensely benefit to the nation, State and other stake holders, Ajay Jain said.
