Naidu defends comments on Balayya

Hyderabad, June 11: Telugu Desam party president, N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday defended his comment that film actor and his brother-in-law, N. Balakrishna would dominate political scene in the State in the coming years.

Mr. Naidu made this comment while participating in the ‘muhurat shot’ of “Paramveerachakra” starring Balakrishna that coincided with the latter’s 50th birthday at KVBR Stadium. His comment combined with the one on Balakrishna’s ‘unparalled’ film career evoked loud cheers from the large gathering of the actor’s fans.

Asked about his observation and if Mr. Balakrishna would be given a party post, Mr. Naidu said media persons should not read too much into his comments. Mr. Balakrishna had been campaigning for the party for long and if he wished he could enter politics and he could be given responsibility. But right now he was busy with his film career.

The film star’s birthday was a gala affair as it also happened to be film maker Dasari Narayana Rao’s 150 {+t} {+h} film. It was attended by film personalities and political leaders.
