Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday reiterated that TDP would allot more than 100 seats to Backward Classes in the 2014 elections if it receives efficient number of candidates.
Addressing the BC Association leaders after he was being felicitated for his grand pronouncement that TDP would give 100 seats to BC’s in the 2014 elections, Naidu said that the TDP would stand as a rock behind the BC’s in their struggle to get their due benefits and quota in elective bodies. He challenged those political leaders, who were criticizing the TDP for announcing 100 seats to BCs, to announce a better policy for BCs if they have any guts.
Naidu slammed the Congress party for diluting BC policy by spending only Rs 50 crore as against an allocation of Rs 1,200 crore under the Rajiv Abhyudaya programme. He said the goal and political motto of party was to give prominence to BCs not only in economy, but also promote them socially and politically as well.
Naidu called upon all castes in the BCs to unite and launch a fight on common platform to achieve their demands.
