Naidu to clear Prabhu, Sujana, TG for RS

Telugu Desam Supremo and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today reportedly zeroed in on allocation of three Rajya Sabha seats. Chandrabu is understood to have given his nod to Sujana Chowdhary a central minister, TG Venkatesh a former minister from Congress and the third one to Suresh Prabhu who is Railways minister. Out of four RS seats going to polls in the AP the YCP had already announced its auditor Vijay Sai Reddy as a candidate.

After a marathon Cabinet meeting and a special meeting with his top level aides, Chandrababu preferred Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu to be nominated from Andhra Pradesh. It is reportedly confirmed that the TD’s national boss headed to the BJP national leadership which suggested Suresh Prabhu’s name for the third RS seat.

It is a shot in the arm for the TD government after bifurcation as the divided AP state is seeking a separate railway division for Visakhapatnam by offering the RS seat to Railway Minister. Naidu also finalized other two RS members including union minister Sujana Chowdhary and TG Venkatesh a former minister.

The former congress minister on Monday morning met Naidu and the latter agreed to send him to the RS though other seniors like Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy and Governor post aspirant Motkupalli Narsimulu were seeking the same. The TD Supremo reportedly asked the BJP national leadership to take one RS seat and give two governor posts for the TD leaders. If that calculation works out between the two allies (BJP and TD), Motkupally is set to become a Governor it is said. (NSS)
