Ranchi: Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Venkaiah Naidu today announced a round-the-clock Doordarshan channel for Jharkhand.
Special slots will be kept for Jharkhand through ‘Doordarshan Bihar’ till a full-fledged channel is launched, he told a press conference here.
Naidu, who was here to review programmes of urban development and housing departments in the state, said the announcement for a separate 24×7 channel was made following a request from Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das.
He said Jharkhand has been given the most film-friendly award by the National Film Awards.
The Union Minister said in order to set up a film city in the state, assistance will be taken from the National Film Development Corporation and the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute in Kolkata.
