Hyderabad, October 08: Now that a cabinet reshuffle is on the cards, chief miniser K Rosaiah received some advice from an unlikely quarter: Chandrababu Naidu. The TDP president urged the chief minister to remove at least five “tainted ministers” from the Cabinet.
Addressing the TDP extended committee meeting here, Naidu furnished the names of four minister he would like to see dropped by Rosaiah: Dharmana Prasada Rao (revenue), B Satyanarayana (panchayat raj), Vatti Vasant Kumar (rural development) and Silpa Mohan Reddy (housing) from the ministry. They have been involved in various illegal operations, he said.
In Naidu’s view, Botsa could not escape his responsibility in the Volkswagen scam although the CBI gave him a clean chit. As for Vasantha Kumar, Prasada Rao and Silpa Mohan Reddy, they were guilty of occupying government lands, Naidu said.
The TDP boss alleged that though the opposition has been bringing to light corrupt practices by Congress leaders, especially in mining, the chief minister was only using the information to curb the tainted minister but not sack them.
Naidu said advisor K V P Ramachnadra Rao’s hand was behind every corrupt deal in the state.
Naidu wondered how Kadapa mayor P Ravindranath Reddy was given an audience with the chief minister despite facing allegations of producing substandard fertilisers. His name was dropped from the chargesheet in the case only after he met Rosaiah, Naidu alleged.
Referring to organisational matters in the TDP, Naidu said district units of the party ought to be activated to take up local issues. “When I visit a district once in six months I fight on one or two issues. District party presidents too should identify local issues and launch continuous agitations locally,” Naidu suggested. He directed the party leaders to activate the in-charges of constituency committees and area committees.
