Anantapur (AP), September 26: Telugu Desam Chief N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday alleged ruling Congress in Andhra Pradesh of indulging in massive corruption and hurting the state’s interests.
“The then Chief Minister Rajasekhara Reddy looted lakhs of crores of rupees and gave it to his family members. His corruption and injustice is unprecedented in the state,” Naidu, who is on the tour of Ananatapur district, told a gathering here.
“His (Rajasekhara Reddy) brother-in-law (Kadapa Mayor Ravindranath Reddy) has illegally sold fertilisers,” he said.
Some lorries were recently seized in Kadapa district for illegally transporting fertilisers from a fertiliser mixer plant owned by Ravindranath Reddy and his partners.
Naidu said the K Rosaiah Government proved to be a total failure on all fronts and it gave an impression whether any government existed at all in the state.
Taking exception to state Agriculture Minister N Raghuveera Reddy’s remarks that there is no scarcity of fertilisers in the state, Naidu wondered how can the minister say so when the farmers were resorting to agitations for fertilisers.
“There is a minister from this district (Raghuveera Reddy). He is a minister who lies. When farmers are agitated over non-availability of fertilisers, the minister says there is no shortage,” he added.
