Hyderabad, June 06: February 2008: Congress MP Harirama Jogaiah’s Madhapur residence was attacked by a group of Congress workers. The MP alleged that it was led by henchmen of Danam Nagender and that it was he who instigated them to target the house. Jogaiah further alleged that Nagender wanted to kill him as he praised PRP chief Chiranjeevi and criticised the then chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy.

April 1, 2008: A Congress party activist, Mohammed Amar Ahmed, lodged a complaint with the Banjara Hills police alleging that Danam Nagender, then Greater Hyderabad Congress Committee president, had threatened him. In his complaint, Ahmed stated that he had gone to Nagender’s Banjara Hills house to discuss a party matter. There, a heated argument ensued and Nagender’s driver, Bhaskar, allegedly slapped Ahmed while Nagender threatened him with dire consequences. The police, however, did not register any case.

May 29, 2009: During the byelections in the city, Congress and CPI(M) activists clashed in Musheerabad. BC Welfare Minister M Mukesh Goud allegedly manhandled CPI(M) Rajya Sabha MP P Madhu in the presence of Danam Nagender.

November 20, 2009: Congress legislator from Uppal, B Raji Reddy lodged a complaint with the Kushaiguda police stating that Nagender’s goons attacked his driver and damaged his vehicle during a GHMC election campaign. He alleged the henchmen were set upon him by Nagender.

December 8, 2009: While TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao was on a fast for a separate Telangana, Nagender had made a statement demanding that Hyderabad be made a Union territory. Taking strong objection, members of the Osmania University JAC took strong objection and showed up at his house to voice their displeasure. Nagender and his goons are said to have beaten up the students who were later taken to the Banjara Hills police station.

A FEW YEARS AGO: Nagender had barged into the Nizam College premises where he allegedly assaulted some faculty members and students who later staged a protest against this outrageous behaviour.

On another occasion, Nagender reportedly brutally thrashed a person who entered the Gandhi Bhavan premises without permission.
