There is a threat from terrorists to the Nagarjuna Sagar dam. In order to keep strict vigil, Govt. has provided aerial dish antenna and latest cameras. Special Protection Force teams have also been constituted. They are being provided walkie Talkie sets.
It may be mentioned that World Bank sanctioned Rs. 4440 crore for this dam out of which Rs. 7.81 crore have been allocated for security arrangements. The dam has been cordoned with electric wires. Strict vigilance will be observed with the help of three computers and the patrolling staff will be intimated for taking immediate action. If anyone touches these electric wires, there will be no harm but a message will be sent to the control room.
