Hyderabad, October 17: Telangana Nagara Samithi president Nagam Janardhan Reddy on Sunday accused Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Director General of Police Dinesh Reddy of making efforts to suppress the Telangana agitation by foisting false cases during the Rail Roko agitation.
Talking to media persons at his residence, Nagam said that no one could water down the people’s agitation which has been going on peacefully for the cause of Telangana state. Demanding lifting of all cases, he sought the Chief Minister’s apology for illegal arrest of elected representatives during the agitation. He also demanded their unconditional release.
Nagam also questioned the Telangana ministers for calling off the statehood agitation in midway. “Before calling off the agitation, the Telangana Ministers should have felt ashamed of themselves,” he said while asking the minister as to how they would face the people when they visit their constituencies.
The former minister warned the government of serious consequences if it did not stop using coercive methods to foil the agitation. He called upon the MPs, Ministers and MLAs to come under one platform to agitate for Telangana state. If the all Telangana leaders make concrete efforts with commitment, the Centre would bow down to statehood demand immediately, he said.
