Nagam Quits BJP, Likely to Join Cong

BJP senior leader Dr Nagam Janardhan Reddy has tendered his resignation to the party and faxed the resignation letter to the BJP national president Amith Shah today.

Speaking on the occasion, Janardhan Reddy alleged that the BJP leaders have failed to wage a movement against the TRS government. He said that the BJP leaders were not raising public issues in the Assembly and made it clear that he tendered his resignation to the BJP following the wish of his followers and activists.

It may be mentioned here that Nagam Janardhan Reddy was staying away from the BJP for the last few months. Nagam has opened his own office at Basheerbagh though he joined BJP before 2014 elections and he lost the elections contesting from Mahabubnagar Parliament constituency. Nagam was already in touch with the Congress party leaders and he would join Congress party at any moment though some leaders from the district were opposing his entry into Congress party. The party high command has already given a green signal to the state party leaders, with the initiative of TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy and former Union Minister S Jaipal Reddy, to admit Reddy in the party.
