Nagam plans to take on TRS Govt–Announces “Bachao Telangana Mission”

BJP leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy today announced the formation of ‘Bachao Telangana Mission’ to wage a war against the ruling TRS and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for his allegedly dubious promises to people of the state.

Addressing a media conference here, Janardhan Reddy sought to dispel the impression that he is on his way out from the BJP in search of a better political future. Reddy said he has chosen May 9 for the Bachao Telangana Mission and will tour all the Lift Irrigation schemes in the new state to check the progress of construction work. Reddy claimed that he has the support of BJP for his new Mission. He also said that any state government will be able to give drinking water to people only after finishing the major irrigation projects and he is making this clear with experience as a former Panchayati Raj minister. Janardha Reddy rubbished TRS government’s claims that silt is being removed from tanks only for the first time. Previous governments had also taken up de-silting under Neeru-Meeru programme, he stated.

He said that he joined the BJP party for extending support to Telangana statehood without seeking any posts and stuck to the same idea. In reply to a question, Reddy said he believes in value-based politics and is member of a responsible political party. It may be recalled that Nagam launched Telangana Nagara Samithi on May 9, 2011 to “reignite” the Telangana movement.(NSS)
