Hyderabad, October 25: The relations between Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) further strained today with TDP accusing TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao of diluting the Telangana slogan.
Speaking to reporters here today, TDP leader N Janardhan Reddy said that TRS would close down its shop by next elections. He dared Rao to resign and contest again on his own. “If Rao seeks the mandate of Mahaboobnagar afresh, he is certain to lose his deposit,’’ Janardhan Reddy said.
A day after TRS chief Chandrasekhar Rao used choicest abuses against TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, TDP reciprocated in the same manner. Soon after the Supreme Court’s order on Hyderabad Free Zone issue, leaders of both the parties pointed accusing fingers at each other. While, the TRS preferred agitational programmes, the TDP stuck to its stand of obeying Presidential orders and supported the State Government’s move to file a review petition in the Apex court.
Janardhan Reddy recalled that Rao won from Mahaboobnagar Lok Sabha seat with the help of TDP. How could TRS chief accuse Naidu after winning the seat at the mercy of Naidu in the last elections? he questioned.
The TDP leader said that TRS chief was moving closer to the Congress high command.
In a bid to capture power at the Centre he was trying to move closer to the Congress. In the process, Rao was making baseless allegations against the TDP, he said.
“If Rao wants to praise Sonia Gandhi again, let him do so. But he should not forget that he won from Mahaboobnagar with the help of Naidu,’’ Janardhan Reddy said.
DROP SEETHA’S NAME: Meanwhile, a TDP delegation led by MLA N Janardhan Reddy urged Chief Minister K Rosaiah to direct the officials to drop the name of TDP MLA Seetha Dayakar Reddy in the suicide case of B Rajeswari, an agriculture officer.
The dying declaration of Rajeswari did not mention anything which suggested that Seetha Dayakar Reddy used provocative words that drove Rajeswari to commit suicide, the TDP delegation said in a memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister. They wanted her name to be deleted from the list of the accused.
