Andhra Pradesh State Legislative Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar, who met the AICC general secretary in-charge of state Congress party affairs Digvijay Singh, has also met AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi here on Thursday.
It is learnt that the Speaker has explained to Sonia Gandhi about the strengths of the various parties and how many parties in the Assembly were in favor and against the separate Telangana state if the government introduced Telangana bill in the Assembly in view of the publicity that the centre was going to create a separate Telangana state.
According to sources, the speaker also explained to Sonia Gandhi on how many Legislative members would defy the Whip in case the parties issued whip to vote in favor of resolution on Telangana issue. It is also learnt that the Speaker had submitted a report on Wednesday to Digvijay Singh on what will happen in case the government introduced a resolution in the state Assembly.
Earlier, the Speaker also met Union Home Minister Susheel Kumar Shinde today morning. (NSS)
