Avaladasu Durga Prasad, independent candidate of the graduates constituency of the East and West Godavari districts died under suspicious circumstances. Police registered a case and are investigating.
Durga Prasad came back home at 9 pm, after campaigning in various areas in the West Godavari district. He was watching the TV and speaking to someone over telephone at around 1030 pm when he suddenly died.
His wife who was surprised that he kept the telephone at his ear and was motionless, came near and tried to move him. He remained motionless and they understood that he was already dead. Doubts are being expressed about his death. Police who started investigation are trying to find with whom he spoke over telephone last. Doctors said he died of heart attack.
However, his relatives state that he was healthy and doubt the heart attack theory. Officials announced that there would be no change in the election plan. (NSS)
