Bengaluru: Now get fuel at doorsteps just as milk and newspapers. In order to implement this scheme, Bengaluru became the first city in the country to launch diesel home delivery system. It implemented this innovative scheme just few weeks after the announcement of Oil Ministry.
Mypetrolpump, a one-year-old startup launched this home delivery system on 15th June with three vehicles, each with the capacity of 950 liters. Diesel is delivered at home at the price declared for that day.
According to the report published in TOI, the startup is charging Rs. 99 as one-time delivery charges for up to 100 litres whereas for additional one liter of fuel, the customer has to pay Re. 1 each as delivery charge.
It is also reported that so far, startup has got more than 20 customers including 16 schools which own 250 to 300 buses and a few apartment owners.
The order for the supply of fuel can be placed online, through app or through a phone call.
Talking on this issue, Ashish Kumar Gupta, a 32-year-old founder of ‘Mypetrolpump’ said that Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas appreciated his innovative idea.
It may be mentioned that Mr. Ashish Kumar Gupta is an alumnus of IIT-Dhanbad. He quit his job with Shell Global Solutions to start this firm.
He further said that right now his startup is supplying only diesel as its consumption is mostly in industries, heavy vehicles, tractors in agriculture etc. whereas petrol is used only in bikes and cars. “We will supply petrol in future”, he added.
Speaking on the safety measures, he said that vehicles used for delivery of diesel are fabricated by a firm which is approved by the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organization.
It may be noted that ‘Mypetrolpump’ is playing the role of an agency for the delivery of diesel. It does not buy, store or sell diesel.
