My stand on Telangana is final, says Babu

Hyderabad, August 14: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu today said that his word on Telangana should be viewed as the party’s stand and whoever airs their views on the issue should be considered as their personal opinions.

“Whatever I said on Telangana alone is the party’s stand. Statements of others are their personal views,’’ Naidu explained.

Asked about Harikrishna’s open letter to the people recently, Naidu said that he did not know that Harikrishna was writing a letter.

Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president K Chandrasekhara Rao’s allegation that Naidu was behind Harikrishna’s letter, TDP chief said: “It is better to talk less about KCR’’.

Asked whether he would endorse the contents of Harikrishna’s letter, Naidu said that it was his personal opinion and he would not comment on that. “Whatever I said on Telangana will be final. I appealed to leaders to maintain restraint on the sensitive issue,’’ Naidu said.

TDP president, however, reiterated that both Telangana and Andhra were equal to him. He said the party leaders were responding to the sentiments of people of their respective regions.

On the Emaar Properties row, Naidu demanded a CBI probe which should also deal the then finance minister K Rosaiah’s report supporting the deal.

“Under whose pressure Rosaiah gave such a report should also be probed,’’ Naidu said.

He alleged that the APIIC was benefiting realtors. The CBI probe should go into the details of all the projects taken up by the APIIC and how realtors were benefited through such deals.

On the Babli issue, Naidu blamed the chief minister for accepting before Prime Minister that they would abide by the Supreme Court’s verdict. Now, the case had to come up for hearing on August 16, but was deferred to Feb next, Naidu said.
