Minority Welfare Department has decided to move to Supreme Court against Lanco Hills Technology Park Pvt Ltd for creating third party interests by selling flats and villas at its Lanco Hills Project in the city without informing buyers about the Supreme Court direction with regard to the land on which the project is located.. A copy of affidavit has been prepared by Waqf Board in this connection. Secretary Minority Welfare Syed Omer Jaleel directed Waqf Board officials to ensure early filing of petition in Supreme Court so that the sales of Lanco Hills can be stopped.
Secretary Minority Welfare as competent authority had directed to file an appeal in Supreme Court on December 2, 2015. An affidavit was also prepared through a senior advocate of the city in this connection. However the affidavit was not submitted in the Supreme Court.
The advertisements were published again last week by Lanco Hills after which Minority Welfare Department expedited the process. Waqf Board will request Supreme Court to bind Lanco Hills to mention the Supreme Court observations that the land on which the Lanco Hills Project was located belonged to the Dargah Hazrath Hussain Shah Vali under the jurisdiction of the Waqf Board.
