Urdu has been given the status of 2nd language in Telangana state. Here if Minority Welfare Department itself toys with Urdu language, what one could expect from other departments. Study Centre for Minorities of Minority Welfare Department has made mockery of Urdu language in a notification issued by it. Not only that the language used in the notification is incomprehensible, but it seems that Minority Welfare Department has created a new language.
The notification inviting applications for coaching offered by the Study Centre has been issued with the signature of the Director. Who has prepared the notification? And who approved it? Is a secret unrevealed. No official is ready to accept the responsibility for that. Not a single word of the notification is comprehensible. The short notification is full of blunders. It seems that the Urdu press note has been prepared by using Google Urdu converter.
Secretary Minority Welfare and Director Minority Welfare should immediately pay attention towards the matter and ensure appointment of Urdu knowing persons in Study Centre. Also action should be taken against the person who sent the press release to Urdu newspapers. Officials of Minority Welfare Department cannot shrug their shoulders by giving the excuse that Director Study Circle is a non-Urdu person as it is the responsibility of high officials to protect Urdu language in the department belonging to minorities.
