Karachi, December 10: What the mighty Americans, NATO and Pakistan could not achieve in past eight years, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) self-exiled London-based chief Altaf Hussain, claimed that his party would eliminate terrorism from Pakistan in ten hours if provided the opportunity.
This astonishing declaration was made by Altaf while delivering a telephonic addresses from London to a big rally at the Karachi Press Club.
The rally was organised by MQM in Karachi and other parts of Sindh to mourn the deaths in suicide attacks at Moon Market, Lahore and Multan carnage on Monday and Tuesday.
“Today’s mourning day is Yom-e-Matam. The religious leaders who are supporting the Taleban are criminals. If the MQM comes into power, we will eliminate terrorism from the country in mere 10 hours in a similar manner as we have taken out this huge anti-terrorism rally on a 10 hour notice,” claimed MQM leader.
Altaf also urged people not to offer prayer behind ulema and religious leaders who were supporting Taleban and the un-Islamic actions of terrorists.
MQM leader’s latest declaration was termed by his opponents as mere cheap talk to gain publicity.
Magic Wand
“It seems Altaf Hussain has some king of magic wand to end terrorism in ten hours which super power like American had so far failed to do so,” stated an opposition party leader on a chat show.
The MQM chief, an erstwhile opponent of religious parties and leaders of the country, described them as criminals. “Ulema and religious leaders who are directly or indirectly supporting Talebanisation are criminals”, he said.
“I have been warning repeatedly against the increasing Talebanisation in the country but my calls have been completely ignored. On the contrary I have been accused of creating fear and unnecessary panic among the people. However, today every nook and corner of the country is facing threats from Taleban ,” stated MQM chief.
He said that the MQM fully shares the sorrow of the people of Punjab and expresses complete solidarity with them, adding that the entire nation was in a state of mourning against the acts of terrorism and suicide attacks.
“MQM is the only party which is capable of safeguarding this country,” Altaf declared and urged the participants to wage Jihad against terrorists who were murdering innocent people of Pakistan.
“God forbids if Altaf dies today, remain steadfast. Stay united and work for the solidarity and integrity of the country. If the people will ask me to come to Pakistan, I will arrive in the country on the first available flight,” something Altaf been saying since he left the country in early 1990s and now permanently settled in London.
