Welcoming the appointment of Ponnala Lakshmaiah and Dr N Raghuveera Reddy as the chiefs of Congress Committees, Congress senior leader Ch Muthyam Reddy said that the Congress has proved that it was a pro-BC party.
Speaking to media persons here, Muthyam Reddy said that the Congress High Command picked the right candidates for the crucial job. He said while Ponnala would have to lead the party into the elections amid celebrations of formation of Telangana, Raghuveera would be handling the difficult task of reviving the party in Seemandhra region. Both the leaders are capable of leading the party to victory in the ensuing elections, he said.
Muthyam Reddy said that both Ponnala and Raghuveera were honest towards the party and never ran for posts. Therefore, by recognising their services, the Congress party has boosted the confidence level of entire cadre in both Telangana and Seemandhra regions. He expressed confidence that the Congress would form the next government in both the States. (INN)
