Muthulakshmi, wife of late forest brigand Veerappan today demanded a CBI inquiry into alleged atrocities by Special Task Force (STF) formed to nab Veerappan.
Terming former Karnataka DG and IGP Shankar Bidari as ‘rapist’, Muthulakshmi told newspersons here “I dont have any proof of the atrocities committed by the STF of which Bidari was the Deputy Commandar. But those who suffered at his hands have revealed the crimes including ‘rape’.
“They used to remove the eyes of the innocents arrested in the name of Veerappan associates and women were raped and beaten. Bidari is an inhuman person with no concern for women whatsoever,” she alleged.
Charging him of rape and torture of many tribal women, she said ‘as far as I am concerned, while interrogating me, Bidari used foul language and even pulled out my mangalasutra’.
Recollecting the alleged atrocities committed by the STF against tribal women including rape and giving electric shocks and said ‘that the very reason we did not speak about this we were in mortal fear of losing our lives’.
