Srinagar, May 15: In an attack on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leadership, the ruling National Conference (NC) on Friday described PDP patron Mufti Muhammad Sayed as “snake” and its president Mehbooba Mufti as “crocodile.” Senior NC leader Sharief-ud-Din Shariq, also a Member Parliament (MP), accused Sayed of “of playing a role of ‘Asteen ka samph (Snake which bites its master) and ‘mukhbir’ (informer) to dig a grave for Kashmir’s individuality and identity.
” “Mufti’s role in the State Subject Bill and Permanent Residence (disqualification) Bill are black examples of his deeds. Using might and money, Mufti made an attempt to pass bills amidst din in the state Assembly,” alleged Shariq, a senior NC leader.
He alleged that Jammu and Kashmir were put on the path of bloodshed by Mufti Sayed. “When Mufti Sayed was the Home Minister of India, he had a hand in the bloodshed in Kashmir.
He only knows where hundreds disappeared are buried and who are lying in unmarked graves across the state,” alleged Shariq. The NC leader claimed that flesh trade scandal, forest scandal and land transfer scandal happened during Mufti’s rule in the state.
“The transfer of land to the Amarnath Shrine Board resulting in deaths of 65 civilians in the agitation that followed the decision is because of Sayed,” alleged Shariq.
